Aloha. My name is Sasha Sivan. I am originally from Borneo, Malaysia but I have called Hawaii my home for the past 18 years. I completed my MEd in Learning Design and Technology with a Certificate in Online Teaching from University of Hawaii in June 2022. I have been teaching at the elementary school level for since graduating in BSc in Elementary Education at Chaminade University in December 2014. Prior to pursuing a career in teaching, I received a Diploma in Computing and spent 10 years in the accounting field. Growing up, I lived in different continents of the world and was exposed to different school systems and culture. Years of traveling and becoming a life long learner led me to pursue my passion of being an educator.
Through the years of teaching, I was able to put the skills I learned to practice. I quickly learned effective classroom management, lesson planning, differentiating instructions and assessments. I developed many new teaching techniques and most recently included game based learning. My teaching methods have evolved over the years being in the classroom. I constantly look to challenge myself to be the best educator that I can be.

Teaching is a passion of mine of which I love to share. I believe that educating a child to reach his/her full potential is of utmost importance. I also feel that learning should be fun, exciting as well as challenging. It is my hope to guide each and every student and make the classroom a fun and respectful environment.
